Makayla J.T. Anderson (artistically known as “MK”) is a West-Indian writer, spoken-word poet, and Holistic Wellness practitioner – raised in Brooklyn, NY. Lessons learned through navigating traumatic life experiences led MK to embark on a holistic journey of healing, turning to poetry and yoga in the process. Makayla is now the founder of Our Inner Root, a wellness firm dedicated to fostering wellness spaces prioritizing Black, women-identifying individuals and members of the global majority. MK’s distinct framework of reflection, movement, and community guides those currently enduring internal or external transition periods.
